Me, around age six or seven.
I was trying to find the “origin moment” that many people have: the dramatic event that launches their business.
But I don’t have that. What I have is a thread that runs through my entire life.
Seven-year-old Linda wanted to protect people.
Thirty-year-old Linda fought her way back from depression.
Forty-year-old Linda opened a quilt shop where people wanted to linger because it felt safe.
Fifty-year-old Professor Linda became the teacher students sought out when life fell apart.
The boys who gathered at our house weren’t coming for the computers. They were coming because our home felt like a refuge.
Today, women come to me for exactly the same reason.
Different seasons.
Different tools.
Same woman.
I used to call myself a survivor. Then, I called myself a thriver.
But my story isn’t really about surviving. It’s about becoming the person I needed.
I often describe myself as a Human Design guide, a tapping practitioner, a life coach, an MBA; a former professor. Those are all true. But they are not who I am.
I am someone who creates enough safety that people can finally tell themselves the truth.
Then I help them understand it.
Then I help them move.
That’s why my students called them “Linda’s Life Lessons.” That’s why clients tell me they feel better after one conversation. That’s why my brand, The Road to Better™, fits so naturally. I don’t rescue people. I don’t fix them. I walk beside them until they can walk with confidence on their own.
I’ve spent a lot of time wondering whether my story is “too much.” It turns out the power of my story isn’t in the trauma of my life.
The power is that every chapter answers the same question: “What kind of person do I become because of what happened to me?”
My answer has always been service. How can I take what I went through and make it better for someone else? If any of this is landing for you, let’s have that conversation. “When You’re Capable...and Something Feels Off”: here’s the link https://www.lifelessonswithlinda.net/whenyourecapable4774 ❤️
