She’s not trying to cause trouble. She just hasn’t figured out yet that the energy is running her.
In our last chat, we met “She Knows What’s Worth Fighting For” and talked about what this energy is really about. Today we meet Miss Cranky Pants.
The cranky version of this energy stirs things up without really knowing why.
That’s what makes it tricky. It provokes without purpose. It pokes the bear not because something needs to shift, but because the energy is restless and uncomfortable, and stirring something up at least makes things feel like they’re moving.
This is the Incitement side. And it leaves a wake behind it.
You may have had the experience of walking away from a conversation or a situation, sensing that something went sideways, without being completely sure what happened. The mood was off. Something you said landed harder than you intended. The other person got defensive, or hurt, or pulled away.
And you’re sitting there thinking, I was just being honest. I was just asking a question. I was just saying what needed to be said.
Sometimes that’s true.
And sometimes this energy was provoking without a clear reason, and the people around you felt it even if none of you could name it.
I’ve had this happen to me in the classroom when I was still teaching. It hurt my student, which was never my intention. I learned the hard way to be more vigilant about this energy sneaking up on me, especially in professional settings.
There’s also the version that turns inward.
When the itch to stir things up has nowhere to go, it sometimes shows up as stress eating, or not eating at all. I’m not a stress eater. I completely lose my appetite. I can forget to eat entirely, which takes me straight to hangry or a hellacious headache, all rooted in the cranky side of this energy. My husband knows this about me. If I mention a headache, his first question is always, when’s the last time you ate?
Another way this energy turns inward is as a moodiness that seems to come from nowhere. A tense, restless feeling in the body that just won’t settle. Drama that erupts without a clear trigger. I’ve learned to go do a session of kundalini meditation when that unsettled feeling runs through me. It helps settle me right down.
The crankiest expression of this energy is hoarding, in all its forms. Hoarding food, resources, emotions. Shopping from a place of fear rather than desire. Feeling trapped. Feeling like there’s not enough, and that feeling, driving behavior that confirms it.
And here’s what makes this particularly tricky. This energy isn’t always aware that it’s provoking, that it’s pushing the envelope. It moves through without a full accounting of what your boat is stirring up, which means the wake can be there before you even realize you created it.
There’s a simple question that helps.
Am I provoking or stirring things up because something truly needs to shift, or am I pushing this because I’m uncomfortable and this is how I move the energy?
Only you know the honest answer.
In our next chat, we talk about what “She Knows What’s Worth Fighting For” looks like in everyday life when it’s working the way it’s supposed to. And that version is so fun to see.
I wouldn’t miss it. I hope you don’t!
Find your happy. Love what you do. Make a difference. Come back to me safely. See ya!
